Project Registrations Are Open!

This annual all-church service project is when MDPC leaves the pews to serve our city. There are service opportunities on both Saturday and Sunday of CITC weekend, Feb 24-25, 2024. So plan to not have plans and be part of the action!

  • Participants provide their own transportation to all projects. Carpooling from home or MDPC is encouraged!
  • T-shirts will be available for sale soon. The design is carrying over from 2023.
  • We will be collecting the following for our CITC24 projects:
      Toilet Paper – any size package
      Socks – NEW tube or crew socks
      Bread – White or wheat. Nothing fancy, NO Texas toast.
    Collection tables will be in the Front Office, Parlor Hallway, and Grand Staircase
  • MDPC Café will offer Grab-n-Go breakfast items, 9:00-11:00am:
      Cinnamon Roll $3
      Breakfast Taco $2.25
      Fruit Cup $3

This year's project line up:

HOUSTON FOOD BANK
  • At Houston Food Bank
  • Pack food boxes, repackage bulk items, bag rice, pull "grocery" orders for local organizations.
  • Ages 6+ and youth 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult

HCU CAMPUS OUTREACH (Saturday opportunity)
  • At Houston Christian University on Sat, Feb 24
  • Burger Bash + Volleyball: Share the love of Christ with students at HCU by building relationships through conversations around food and volleyball. We need team members for food setup, playing volleyball, and relational connection.
  • Families encouraged to serve together

MAGNIFICAT HOUSE LOAVES AND FISHES
  • At Magnificat House. Magnificat Houses (MHI) offers an alternative to the streets, providing shelter, meals, community, and guidance toward a brighter future. Loaves & Fishes, a large soup kitchen in downtown Houston, serves over 300 of Houston’s chronically hungry by providing nutritious, home-cooked meals and distributing necessities.
  • Join us to assemble and distribute bags of toilet paper, socks, and cards to clients.
  • Ages 16+ and youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult

PARTNER PROJECTS
  • At MDPC
  • Decorate superhero candy bars, bag beans and rice, assemble snack bags, fill Easter eggs, and decorate birthday lunch bags
  • Ages 3+ with adult (intended for our youngest volunteers and their families and those with limited mobility)

  • Build and repair benches, build a garden shed, landscape, paint, and assemble cleaning kits
  • Ages 6+ and youth 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult

PROJECTS FOR THOSE AT HOME
  • Write letters of encouragement to missionary partners. Return letters to MDPC by mail or drop-off at Front Office. Click HERE for a list of our global missionary partners for 2024.
