Sally Henien has been at MDPC since July 2022, serving as MDPC’s Young Adults Director. Sally grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania in a Christian home raised by her two loving parents alongside her older brother and younger sister. From a young age, Sally attended church regularly, led worship through singing/guitar, taught Bible studies, and participated in several mission trips inside the U.S. and abroad to Ethiopia, China, Nepal, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Honduras. Serving others and experiencing different cultures continues to bring joy to her heart.
During her undergraduate studies, Sally’s passion for Young Adult ministry began to develop as she witnessed college students search for answers about their identity, purpose, and sense of belonging that could only be found in Christ. It was during this season that Sally discovered God’s unique calling on her life to pursue vocational ministry focusing on helping young adults navigate this pivotal stage of life. To this day, it is her desire to create a safe space where all feel like they have a place to belong while pursing truth found in Jesus. As young adults discover their God-given identity, gifts, and talents, it not only fuels the individual with purpose and passion, rather it becomes a catalyst of joy that impacts their workplace, families, and beyond.
Sally graduated from the University at Buffalo, NY with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2013. Upon graduating, she served as the Director of Campus Ambassadors in Buffalo, NY (2013-2022). She later continued her studies in Seminary at Liberty Rawling School of Divinity, graduating with her Master of Arts in Christian Ministry with a concentration in Worship and was ordained in Buffalo, NY as College Pastor in 2017. When asked, her most valuable lesson learned over the years is to trust God and follow His lead – wherever that may take you. She deeply believes that nothing is better than seeing God work in the lives of others – especially those of the next generation, the church of today.
